The American Occupational Therapy Foundation Scholarship
The American Occupational Therapy Foundation (AOTF) awards more than 50 scholarships annually to students enrolled in accredited or developing occupational therapy programs in the United States. Scholarships are awarded based on selection criteria that include academic achievement, service, and evidence of leadership through activities and written recommendations. Students need complete only one online application for all scholarships for which an applicant is eligible.
The AOTF administers funds for scholarships provided through individual endowments and endowments created by 22 state occupational therapy associations and the District of Columbia Occupational Therapy Association. The Foundation also administers and awards several scholarships established in memory of prominent occupational therapy practitioners, as well as scholarships sponsored by corporate and non-profit supporters.
The National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) Scholarship Endowment also provides annual scholarships for four exemplary students.
Interested and eligible students can access further information and begin an application using the AOTF website. Applications for the academic years are typically accepted in August through October, and scholarship award recipients are typically announced by April the following spring.
The American Occupational Therapy Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable, scientific and educational organization established in 1965. Its mission is to advance the science of occupational therapy to support people’s full participation in meaningful life activities.
