Agenda:
-
2:00 The hour before the chambers open is the busiest in the rotunda. This year, we plan to host a friendly competition between senators and representatives. We will be offering free grip strength tests, educating the public on its relationship to overall health and the role of occupational therapy.
-
3:00 Chambers open, session begins. After the opening prayer and pledge, a legislator will recognize the occupational therapy professionals present. Participants will stand to be recognized and reward the winners of the grip strength test. You are welcome to stay and observe the rest of the session for as long as you would like.
We understand that this is a long day for our students and professionals. Once you are registered, you will receive a link to a Sign Up Genius. This will allow you to volunteer for specific time slots if you are only able to attend for a specific time period.
Additional Information:
Dress code: No Jeans or shorts. While the legislators and senators will be in suits and professional attire, it is acceptable for participants to wear THEIR version of professional attire. This can be your work scrubs, OT school shirt and pants, or LOTA shirt and pants.
