Current proposed bills of high importance to LOTA as well as spreading awareness of the importance of occupational therapy
OT impacts everyday living for so many of our legislators' voters - we want to help make that connection when speaking with them. You can check our advocacy page as it gets closer to April 28th to stay up-to-date on bills relevant to OT.
Even if you have absolutely no knowledge regarding the proposed bills of this legislative session, your passion for the OT profession is all you need to bring!
Rotunda of the State Capital in downtown Baton Rouge
Look for the LOTA sign right after you get through the front doors. We'll be on the House side of the Rotunda - you can't miss us!
Tentative: 9:00am - 2:00pm
There is no amount of time you are required to be present - you can come just to say hello if that's all you can do! Know the time is tentative and it sometimes changes the day before or morning of pending session time changes, will update as instructed by Kevin!
Casual business attire
Your work uniform is also appropriate.
Nearby public parking lots
There are several around - if you have parking trouble, there are usually several staff members outside available to answer questions.
Encouraged, but NOT required
Perks of registering: we'll know to look for you, plus you'll get reminder emails as it gets closer.
You can contact Sam, Legislative Chair, at the email above with questions.
